Twilight deck analysis

Twilight is a term used by players to refer to a combination of many different types of monsters with DARK and LIGHT attributes, hence the name 'Twilight'.

Deck using a combination of both LIGHT and DARK monsters, firstly introduced with the still all-powerful Chaos decks, Twilight mainly focuses on milling the Deck to use Lightsworn monsters and Summon Judgment Dragon, while at the same time placing DARK monsters in the Graveyard in order to Summon Dark Armed Dragon. Since the milling effect can place vital monsters in the Graveyard Twilight decks make use of Graveyard control cards such as Monster Reincarnation, Necro Gardna and sometimes Pot of Avarice to make sure they get the cards required in the hand and Graveyard. With the high amounts of DARK and LIGHT monsters being sent to the Graveyard, Chaos Sorcerer can work very well in Twilight decks due to the mix of LIGHT and DARK monsters in this deck. Also, Tragoedia is an important monster for the deck, offering protection from OTK's, versatility as a Synchro Material and the potential to become a huge beatstick, provided the player has enough cards in his/her hand. Another good series of cards to add in this deck is the Sky Scourges which have powerful effects like the effect of Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End, such as being able to remove monsters from play or paying 1000 Lifepoints to send all cards on the field and in both player's hands to the graveyard and then drawing 1 card.

FTK

A First Turn Kill is similar to a One Turn Kill, but this is pulled off in a player's first turn, even the first turn of the Duel. "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" was capable of this when it was legal if you had the right cards to go with it such as "Graceful Charity" and "Card Destruction". It is also possible to win on your first turn by obtaining all five "Forbidden One" pieces during your first draw phase, but this is unlikely to happen.

Other "First Turn Kill" decks are the "Magical Scientist First Turn Kill" and the "Dark Magician of Chaos First Turn Kill". The "Magical Scientist First Turn Kill" deck consists of mainly Spell Cards that utilize the summoning of Catapult Turtle and Magical Scientist. "Dark Magician of Chaos First Turn Kill" abuses "Dimension Fusion", "Spell Economics" and possibly "Toon Cannon Soldier", "Cannon Soldier", "Catapult Turtle" or "Mass Driver". The "Magical Scientist First Turn Kill" no longer exists in the Advanced Format as "Magical Scientist" is Forbidden, and the same goes for "Dark Magician of Chaos".

New "First Turn Kill" and "One Turn Kill" decks are available after the release of "Cyber Valley" in the booster Phantom Darkness. New tactics like Rescue Cat Burn and Banisher Mill innovate in the field of FTKs with complex new strategies

These kind of decks are considered "broken" and frowned upon by many duelists because of the absence of skill involved with the duels themselves, especially at a high rate of success. First, FTK users either have to hope they go first and kill their opponent that first turn or they hope they survive and try again. This relies a lot on luck rather than skill on the FTK user. Second, it completely ignores both the opponent's deck and the Side Deck. They can have the best deck in the metagame or all the tech cards to counter the FTK, but the chances of success for the opponent is still slim.

Here are some First Turn Kills:

* Butterfly Dagger - Elma OTK (Traditional only)
* Dark Magician of Chaos OTK (Traditional only)
* Demise OTK
* Evil Hero Dark Gaia OTK
* Magical Explosion FTK
* Magical Scientist Deck (Traditional only)
* Spell Counter OTK

Aggro

A term at yugioh is called aggro. It isn' t widly spread but it refers to decks that aim finishing your opponent as fast as possible.The term Aggro Deck has come to mean any Deck that has been constructed with fast-paced, aggressive tactics. Usually, an Aggro deck is a modified Beatdown Deck fitted with elements from other decks such as a Control Deck in order to better control the duel and continue to damage the opponent during the instances where their monster attacks are temporarily blocked.

Some aggro cards are "Cyber Dragon", "Hydrogeddon", "Morphtronic Radion", "Botanical Lion", and "Banisher of the Light" because they can overwhelm many other monsters with their effects.

If you want to destroy the structure of well-structured and successful decks which only can be successful by summoning with special summons, play "Royal Oppression" to negate those summons and destroy these monsters by only paying 800 Life Points! As your opponent can use this effect too, you should only Normal Summon or Flip Summon. Try to destroy other structures of your opponent by playing monsters that remove from play cards from the graveyard and save these monsters by playing "Shrink", "Waboku" and "Prime Material Dragon".

An Aggro deck, which is much weaker but possible to play, is one based on "The A. Forces", some Warrior-type monsters with swarming effects, "Burden of the Mighty" and "Royal Decree". Use the Warrior-swarming effect with "The A. Forces" to multiply your attack easily and "Burden of the Mighty" to weaken your opponent. With "The A. Forces" you can summon "Marauding Captain" and, with its effect, summon "Command Knight", to have 2 monsters with 2000 ATK. This deck's main weakness is cards that destroy Spells and Traps. "Judgment of Anubis" may help you get rid of these cards. "Royal Decree" may only be used for a reversal against your opponent's Spell-destroying Traps

QuillboltOTK

This, personally, my favourite otk.So here how it works.
The Quillbolt Loop revolves around using the effects of Quillbolt Hedgehog and Imperial Iron Wall to create a Loop that can be used to take out all of their opponent's Life Points.

The following cards are required to perform the loop:

* Quillbolt Hedgehog
* Imperial Iron Wall
* Mass Driver, Cannon Soldier, Toon Cannon Soldier, Catapult Turtle, or Dark Strike Fighter (Traditional Format only)
* Any Tuner Monster

Simply have a Tuner face-up on the field, revive Quillbolt Hedgehog from the Graveyard with its effect, and Tribute it for Mass Driver's or Cannon Soldier's effect. By having Imperial Iron Wall active Quillbolt Hedgehog will not be removed from play and you can repeat the process until you've won.

OjamaOTK

Cause it is an Otk, the way to use is :Summon Ojama Red to get a full field of Ojamas (easily attainable via Ojamagic) while Ojama Country is on the field, then using Ojama Delta Hurricane!! to clear the opponents field of cards. Afterwards, you can use one of seven different methods to finish the enemy:

* Equip one of your Ojamas with United We Stand and attack with all five Ojamas. Probably the most reliable method now that United We Stand is now Semi-Limited and can be searched via Hidden Armory.
* Use The Big March of Animals to pump your five Ojamas up to 2000 ATK each.
* Play Thousand Energy to make 2 of your vanilla Ojamas 2000 ATK each.
* Attack directly with all five, then use Super Polymerization during the battle phase for Ojama King and attack again. (However, you will need to discard for Super Polymerization)
* Attack directly with all five, then activate Solar Ray. (slightly inferior to the others because it relies on a preset trap card)
* Play Solidarity and attack with all five (however you can only do this if there are nothing but Beast cards in your graveyard, making it risky to splash good monsters like Sangan or Snipe Hunter into the deck.)
* Play Ojama Trio, summon Ojama King, activate Ojamuscle and attack for 10000. (The most unreliable method, requiring seven cards to pull off).

OTKs

So, nowadays otk decks are like the most famous decks. Therefore, I think we should give a bit ,ore credit at them.So what are otk ?
A One Turn Kill is achieved when a player wins a duel in the space of a single turn, as soon as said player has the appropriate cards in hand and has control over the duel. The machina fortress is similar to a First Turn Kill, but the latter is pulled off during the player's first turn, while an OTK can be accomplished at any point of the duel (meaning that FTKs are all OTKs, but not all OTKs are FTKs).

The first prerequisite of an OTK, is that it must be capable of winning in one turn, meaning you can either deplete all of your opponent's 8000 Life Points or fulfill a victory condition in one turn.

The second prerequisite of an OTK is that it must consist of maximum 6 or fewer cards; the listed cards cannot include cards on your opponent's side of the field and cannot include cards that relate to indefinite chance (Such as "Dangerous Machine Type-6"). All of the cards of the OTK must have a reasonable chance of being drawn early, to be able to take control of the duel and win before being overwhelmed.

The third prerequisite of an OTK is Format. Both Traditional and Advanced Formats will have very different OTK styles, owing to the allowable card pools.

Here are all the lists of possible One Turn Kills:

* Asura Priest OTK
* Athena OTK
* Batteryman OTK
* Ben-Kei OTK
* Black Ptera OTK
* Blue-Eyes OTK
* Butterfly Dagger - Elma OTK (Traditional only)
* Cactus Fighter OTK
* Chaos Emperor Dragon OTK (Traditional only)
* Chimeratech OTK
* Colossal Fighter OTK
* Colossal Fighter/Exodia OTK (Traditional only)
* Cyber Breakdown OTK
* Cyber End/Metamorphosis OTK (Traditional only)
* Cyber-Stein OTK (Traditional only)
* Dark Magician of Chaos OTK (Traditional only)
* Dark Reborn OTK (Traditional only)
* Dark Scorpion/Makyura OTK (Traditional only)
* Demise OTK
* Des Frog OTK
* Evil Hero Dark Gaia OTK
* Exodia OTK
* Gear Golem OTK
* Honest OTK
* Infernity OTK
* Judgment Dragon OTK (Traditional only)
